We first teamed up with Elodie and Reyaz for the development of their website for Atelier Lālmitti in 2021. Since then, we’ve worked on several projects together. When they approached us to design their portfolio, we were thrilled. The goal was to create a new section on their existing website featuring a curated selection of artworks by Reyaz Badaruddin and Élodie Alexandre. Both artists have distinct design styles that differ from each other and also from their official brand, Atelier Lālmitti. Therefore, we decided to give their individual pages a design direction that resonated with their artistic practices.
The design direction for Reyaz’s page aimed to maintain a clean and easy-on-the-eyes layout that complemented his minimalistic images. A warm colour palette and a light grey background were chosen to enhance the presentation of his projects. Additionally, a dark blue colour was taken from his paintings as an accent to add a touch of vibrancy. Graphical cutouts from his paintings also added depth and texture to the pages.
